Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of truerung.com and any services we provide under that name (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is provided by FunctionalLogics ("TrueRung", "we", "us").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

TrueRung is a versioned career-progression engine for software engineers. You declare a target level and domain, upload a CV, and the Service produces a readiness score, gap analysis, job- match scoring, CV tailoring, and interview preparation artifacts. Results are based on a large language model (currently provided by Anthropic or OpenAI).

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract under the law of your jurisdiction. You agree to provide accurate sign-up information and to keep your account secure.

One account per person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we reasonably suspect of fraud or abuse, or that are inactive for an extended period.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, including third-party CVs without their permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, decompile, or otherwise circumvent the Service's technical controls or rate limits.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Use the Service to fabricate employment history, education, credentials, or experience you do not possess.

Outputs produced by the Service are partially or fully generated by AI and are provided as guidance, not professional advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any output for a particular role, employer, or outcome.

You are solely responsible for reviewing any output before using it in an application, interview, or other real-world context. Outputs may contain errors, omissions, or statements that do not accurately reflect your experience. Always verify factual claims before presenting them externally.

Nothing in the Service constitutes legal, financial, immigration, employment, or career counselling advice.

You retain all rights to the CVs, job descriptions, target preferences, and other content you provide ("User Content"). By submitting User Content you grant TrueRung a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display it for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you.

We do not use your User Content or any output to train AI models.

The Service itself, including its software, design, prompts, and any documentation is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your own career-progression purposes. Outputs the Service generates for you (your analyses, tailored CVs, prep notes) are yours to use for personal career purposes, including in applications and interviews. You remain responsible for reviewing and validating all generated output before using it externally.

The Service is offered with a free tier and one-time credit packs. Credit packs are denominated in euros and processed by Stripe. Credits never expire. There are no subscriptions, no auto-renewals, and no recurring charges.

Each progression operation (CV analysis, job match, CV tailoring, interview-prep bundle) decrements one credit of the corresponding type. The free tier is granted once per account.

Prices may change at any time, but any price change applies only to purchases made after the change. Credits already in your balance keep their value.

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance, fix bugs, change features, or temporarily suspend access without notice. Third-party providers may also experience outages that affect availability.

You can delete your account at any time from your Account page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Analyses, matches, tailorings, prep results, and CV-version history are permanently removed. Unused paid credits are forfeited on deletion unless required otherwise by law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your use of the Service creates risk for us or other users, or if required by law. We will give reasonable notice where practical.

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

We make no guarantees about employment outcomes, interview performance, salary results, or any other consequence of using the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the above disclaimers apply to all aspects of the Service.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER TRUERUNG NOR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR PROCESSORS WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TrueRung from any claim, liability, or expense arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a prominent in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with an update, you may delete your account before it takes effect.

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
• Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• No waiver. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• Notices. Notices to you will be sent to your account email. Notices to us must go to support@truerung.com.
